Trip to San Diego - June 25th to June 28th

My cousin Luke and his family live in San Diego near Del Mar Beach. They were going to be out of town for a couple of weeks and graciously let us stay there for the weekend to get out of the heat. It was so great of them. They live in an amazing area and have such a cute place. It was a great get away. The first day we went to Torrey Pines beach, just me and the kids. When Dad got there after work, we went out to eat at Chilis.

I didn't get a lot of good pics of Danielle this day.  But she was responsible for their major project shown below.  Her and Drew built a tunnel and then had fun seeing each other through the tunnel.  Besides digging for night crawlers?  (I am not sure what they were, but they caught a ton of them.  Drew found the first one and it just kind of grew from there).  This was the other major past time for the day.  Every day it was in the 60s.  It was great to get out of the heat and actually feel a little chilly and wear jackets!

The next day we went to Del Mar Beach.  It was a little chillier, but still fun.  The kids dug another tunnel and played football and raced with dad.  We warmed up later by watching a movie, one of several that we watched.  We watched the World Cup every morning too.

The next day we went walking along the boulevard there at Del Mar.  It's such a beautiful place and we got great pictures.  The kids found this cool tree!

 

That night we played golf, our favorite car game.  In Dean's words:  "Drew didn't just beat us, he destroyed us."  The next day, Dean went to work and we took our time cleaning before we left.  The kids practiced their water bending skills in the community pool.  And look at Brinley!  Out swimming in the deep end like a big girl!
