Read-a-thon

For the school's read-a-thon, the younger grades had to read 96 books or sets of 25 pages. The older grades had to read 2000 pages. Both Danielle and Drew were able to accomplish this. They are both required to read every night for homework (Danielle for 30 minutes and Drew for 20 minutes), so it actually wasn't that hard. They both improved in their reading grade level, so it is a great program. On March 30th, the school had an awards ceremony. Afterwards the PTO put on a luncheon for all the kids who got a medal. Brinley and I helped, well Brinley had a total meltdown that stopped all operations for like a full minute that felt like an eternity because she thought Mrs. J (Danielle's teacher) wasn't going to walk with her and she could not get the lemonade off the table. We keep waiting for her to calm down since she turned 4 like Danielle did. Ya, not really happening. It was a fun day though.

In this bottom right hand corner is Danielle with who the kids call John-John. He was not always paralyzed, it was a tragic accident later in life. He is a great example to the kids and comes in every day to help in Mrs. J's class to help during math time.
