May 22nd was a day to celebrate for the Mattsson Family. First, it was Dean's 38th birthday. Second it was Math Field Day for the kids. Couldn't have been more perfect, because Dean is definitely where the kids get their "mathlete" abilities :)
The Math Field Day Competition started early.
I could make a whole book with pictures just of Dani and Bai :)
After Math Field Day was done, we relaxed for a bit. Then Dean decided that he wanted the family to go to Goody's and Yogurt Island. It was really fun. When we got home, Brinley reminded me for the upteenth (sp?) time that she has been wanting a slumber party in Danielle's room. (She assured Drew that he was invited). Brinley sure is lucky that she has an older bro and sis who will humor her. They watched a movie on Danielle's mini TV and cuddled. Love these moments! The next morning, Dean got breakfast in bed with blueberry muffins. (We let him sleep in first). Then when we got home from church, we had dinner and cake. Dean wanted to make his own cake, it is a fam fave: lemon cake. Dean's cakes come out so much better than mine, so I agreed that he should probably do it. It came out sooo good. So, I guess Dean's birthday turned into sort of a weekend event. Which is funny since Dean hates it when we make a big deal out of his birthday. Gotta love him!

It is a good thing to have a man who bakes his own cakes. You've got to love that!
