Diamond Backs Trip

Drew's baseball team is the Diamond Backs this year. The team had the opportunity to go and see a real Diamond Backs game in Arizona at Chase Field.  So last weekend, Dean took Danielle and Drew to the game. They left early Saturday to make it there for a VIP tour where they were shown the World Series trophy.  But I think the kids thought some ball maze thing (sorry not sure what to call it) in front of the ballpark was cooler...

Next, they watched the players warm up on the field. They tried to catch some of the balls as they hit them way out there. They also had a parade for all the ball players there in uniform.

The game was fun too. The Diamond Backs lost by one run, but the kids loved the experience.  That night they swam at the hotel with the other kids who came.

Half way home the next day, they saw a sign for a Dome Rock trail. They got out and pointed to their goal, changed clothes, and headed up.

At the summit they listened to Helaman 5 on Danielle's ipod. It was Sunday and they slept in so they wouldn't make it for church. This was the next best thing. There was a notepad there someone left under a rock where you could write down your thoughts.  They came home with great memories.
Brinley and I missed them, but we managed :)
